You are supposed to use a 10-32 grounding screw. Grounding to boxes is specific on how many threads actually make contact with the box. The only help you can get is from a small house near the junction. In this house there are living 2 gentlemen, 2 twin brother to be exact. The thing is that one of them always lies, and the other one always speaks the truth.I’ve run into this before and I just drilled and tapped the hole to a 10-32 and I was good to go. You can get that size of a drill bit/tap at most any hardware store for like 5-10 bucks. I’m not a professional, though, so I have no idea if there’s some code against doing that, but I’ve done it before and it’s worked great.
