The 24-year-old all-rounder received the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy after beating South Africa’s Laura Wolvaart, Sri Lanka’s Chamari Athapaththu, and Australia’s Annabel Sutherland.

The Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy award was introduced back eight years ago, in 2017.

Kerr was also the fourth cricketer to be named ICC Women’s Cricketer of the Year after Nat Sciver-Brunt, Ellyse Perry, and Smriti Mandhana.

“It's a huge honour to win the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy for ICC Women’s Cricketer of the Year. I guess for me individual awards aren't something you think about much, but this is an extremely special one,” Kerr was quoted as saying by the ICC.

“It’s nice to be able to contribute for New Zealand, I guess that's all any cricketer wants is to work hard and put out performances for their teammates. There are so many people that have helped me achieve what I have, and I'm very grateful for the support network I have around me,” Kerr added.

Kerr impressed across all formats in New Zealand colours, especially during the Women’s T20 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates.

“The number 16 jersey that PR Sreejesh used will now be retired. This is for the senior team. For junior the jersey will be there for they want Sreejesh to groom the next Sreejesh,” Hockey India secretary general Bholanath Singh said.

The all-rounder also was one of the vital pieces in White Ferns’ puzzle after they won their maiden title beating South Africa in the final.

Kerr picked up 15 wickets at an economy of 4.85 in six matches, and was also the leading wicket-taker of the tournament.

She also scored 135 runs at an average of 27 and a strike-rate of 90jb casino, and was the Player of the Match in the final picking three wickets and scoring 43.
