Hunz, them wheel chair motors have a built-in gear box that cuts the rpm way down. Still might be a little wimpy on 12 volts. I think the feed motor on my woodmizer is 1/4 hp running through a gear box . Theres not much in parts--- wheelchair motor, electric box, PWM controller, drum switch, battery and box and a couple pullies and cable. I spent a bit of time figure'in out where I was gonna mount everything so it would look factory, and not something that was gobbed on. Just a light bulb in an enclosed box big enough for a chainsaw. That would keep the saw warm and I would think the veggie oil warm too. Model 6020-20hp Manual Thomas bandsaw,TC40A 4wd 40 hp New Holland tractor, 450 Norse . Electric Al and cornfield Al,00 is a lot of quid.Would it work to have two identicle 7 1/2 hp single phase motors belted to the band.??Start one then the outher to lower start load.Seems like it would be cheaper and simpler than the majic box.With a rotary three phase converter what would be the losses to get 15hp to the band.?? I have used 5 hp motor on my planer for over 30 years now with a plain 2 fuse switch and 30 amp time delay fuses.Number 8 wire and 242 volts.I have had a fuse blow in hot weather at times.I think current increases when a motor gets hot.I stop running the planer when a fuse blows.5hp motors cost too much to take chances.Have the motor checked in a motor shop.
